CCC Block #18 Humility Block

Awhile back I posted CCC Block #18 Mary McKissick AKA Chester Lily in progress.
I began sewing soon after and sewed all the way to complete one flower. For some reason I had some difficulty getting the flower corners smooth and it took stitching some areas twice over. It was looking great ...until I realized that I had sewed the flower upside down! Due to the extra sewing it would be about impossible to rip out without leaving a hole or thrashed background fabric. So, it sat for awhile as I decided what to do. This week I sewed on the remaining two flowers in no time! The upside down flower will stay. This will just add some character and humility to the final quilt!

I agree with Chris, I love the upside down flower. It looks a little like a banksia flower, one of the great Australian native flowers. Thank you for the linkup photo to my blog too.

This gave me such a giggle as it is exactly the sort of thing that I would do :) good on you for leaving it this way, your true Amish moment.

What fun to read your comments! I can always count on my quilt blog friends for quilty encouragement! Now that I have confessed the upside flower error to you - who know this quilt pattern the best - I will not mention it again, ever! It is just how it is supposed to be from here on out! Thanks!

I had to study to see what you meant by the upside down flower. I like that you are going to leave it that way.
